Tissot PRX Quartz Chronograph: Classic PRX Style, Chronograph Functionality

The Tissot PRX Quartz Chronograph is a 41mm steel chronograph that puts a quartz stopwatch inside the PRX's integrated-bracelet case. Tissot released it on September 15, 2026, in silver, black, and blue, at a US retail price of $525. It keeps what people know about the PRX and changes one thing: what the watch is for.

The PRX has always been a quartz story at heart. The 1978 original had a slim quartz case and a bracelet that ran straight out of it, and its name was a spec sheet: PR for precise and robust, X for 10 bar of water resistance. That 100-meter (330-foot) rating carries over here unchanged. The Mondelli family has run Time Source Jewelers since that same year, so we have a soft spot for this one.

A case that stays slim

The case measures 41mm across and 11.65mm thick. That is almost 3mm thinner than the automatic PRX chronograph, and you notice it on the wrist.

The pushers are the one new shape. Tissot cut them to follow the angled flanks of the tonneau case, so from above the outline still reads as a PRX. The polished bezel, sapphire crystal and quick-release bracelet with butterfly clasp all carry over.

Measured to the tenth of a second

Inside is the G10.212, a Swiss quartz chronograph movement from the PowerDrive range. The counter at 3 o'clock reads tenths of a second, the one at 9 o'clock tracks up to 30 elapsed minutes, and a central hand sweeps the chronograph seconds. Running seconds sit at 6 o'clock.

It also has ADD and SPLIT functions. ADD totals several intervals in one timing; SPLIT freezes the display on an intermediate time while the chronograph keeps running. An end-of-life indicator warns you when the battery is getting low.

Vertical brushing replaces the waffle texture of many automatic PRX models, and the date sits at 4 o'clock. Baton hands and indexes carry Super-LumiNova, and a small PRX signature sits inside the 6 o'clock counter.

Three expressions

The silver dial (T137.417.11.031.00) pairs rose-gold-colored hands and indexes with matching rings around the sub-dials. It is the warmest of the three.

The black dial (T137.417.11.051.00) uses nickel-toned hardware and a white date window. Contrast is highest here, so the counters read fastest at a glance.

The blue dial (T137.417.11.041.00) is the color most people picture when they think of the modern PRX. The vertical brushing shows off best on this one, moving from bright to deep navy as the wrist turns.

Quartz or automatic: which PRX chronograph suits you?

The two PRX chronographs are built for different owners. The PRX Automatic Chronograph runs on a mechanical movement with a 12-hour counter and a display caseback, and sells for $2,150. The quartz version trades that for tenth-of-a-second timing, split times, and a thinner case, at about a quarter of the price.

True to the PRX

Quartz models were part of the modern PRX from its 2021 return, so a quartz chronograph brings the line back toward where it started. The shape is familiar. The purpose is new: this is the first quartz chronograph in the PRX family, and the slimmest PRX chronograph Tissot has made, thin enough to sit comfortably under a shirt cuff.

The three new dials join the 35mm, 40mm, and titanium models in our Tissot PRX collection. To see one in person, stop by the showroom at 332 New York Ave in Huntington Village, or text us at (631) 921-4354 to check availability.
